Roughly 10% of elected officials have a disability. This percentage shrinks significantly when accounting gender, with approximately 3% of elected women having disabilities. LEE acknowledges that women with disabilities have contributed significantly to the history of civic involvement.
Join LEE for a discussion about the experiences of elected women with disabilities and ways to bolster representation while advocating for more inclusive and accessible interests, opportunities, and policies.
The 90-minute virtual session will occur on Wednesday, March 27th 2024 at 6PM-7:30PM ET. Members in attendance will be given resources that can elevate their awareness and advocacy for broader accessibility in civic action.
