Only 2% of people in the U.S. will run for office in their lifetime, and it can be a lonely experience, especially for first-time candidates who are also parents and/or caregivers.

With Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE), you don’t have to explore a run alone. Together, LEE’s diverse network of leaders and experts can support you to navigate the unique set of doubts and challenges that stop many parents and caregivers like you from running in the first place.

Join LEE for a discussion with peers who are also in your shoes. On Tuesday September 10th, we’ll provide an hour-long virtual workshop to delve into the challenges, lessons, and benefits of running for office. LEE will also share top tips to consider as you explore a run, and we’ll share resources for every phase of your elected leadership journey.

Attendees will gain clarity on the next phase of their leadership journey and access tangible next steps to plan their next moves.

Workshop Outcomes

  • Learn the benefits of running for office.
  • Address barriers that discourage you from running.
  • Get an idea of what it is like to run for office as an equity-minded leader.
  • Learn top tips to consider when thinking about a run and LEE supports.
  • Connect with other members about their motivations and aspirations.
