About the Course

Your leadership potential is about to explode. This set of learning modules and pages provides a basic introduction to public leadership and educational equity. You’ll learn how public leadership is different from other forms of leadership and build a language to discuss its necessity in the fight for educational equity. By the end of your exploration, you’ll leave with the next steps to continue your leadership development, both in self-driven forms and with the support of LEE staff, services, and programs.

From the comfort of your computer, you’ll also explore three different “paths” of public leadership that can build power for kids, schools, and communities:

  • policy and advocacy;
  • organizing; and
  • elected leadership.

During this experience you will:

  • Explore the essentials of public leadership: identity, liberation theory, and root cause analysis
  • Dig deeper into your interest areas among the leadership pathways
  • Connect your experience with regional opportunities to impact educational inequity and further develop your leadership skills
