About the Course

 

If you are looking to strengthen your relationship with a new or current manager to increase your impact, the Equity-Minded Managing Up Course is here for you.

Through a series of 4 virtual and self-paced steps, you will explore the key skills, mindsets and tools that contribute to a strong and healthy relationship with your manager as you navigate varying identities and unique working environments both physical and virtual.

Along the way, a Managing Up coach will give you the opportunity to practice the management skills you are developing and you will hear from senior LEE members that have confronted managing up challenges of their own. Once complete, you will walk away with a new understanding of your own leadership, a roadmap for strengthening your relationship with your manager, and the tools to navigate new workplace settings and their ever-changing circumstances.

What to Expect

 

  • Complete the steps online at a pace that works for you (45 min. – 1 hr. per step)
  • Understand your own leadership strengths and communication styles to better identify those of your manager
  • Practice scenarios and role-play challenging conversations with feedback from a coach
  • Learn strategies to develop a relationship of accountability and feedback with your manager across a variety of workplace settings
