Why I’m a LEE Ambassador

As a first-generation college student and a sophomore at the University of Miami, my journey has been filled with highs and lows. Moving out of state and being far from the comfort of home hasn’t been easy, and at times, I’ve felt completely alone. But those tough moments have shaped me in ways I never imagined. They forced me to grow, to dig deep, and to figure out who I really am. I’ve learned how to stand on my own two feet, to rely on myself, and to keep going even when things feel uncertain.

That’s why I’m so passionate about becoming an Alumni Ambassador. I know what it feels like to be unsure, to struggle, but also to find your way and come out stronger. I want to share my story and show other students, especially those who feel like they don’t belong, that they’re not alone. I want to help build a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported.

I’ve always loved connecting with people, whether it’s through conversations, campus events, or simply being there to listen. As an Alumni Ambassador, I’d bring that same energy, along with my personal experiences, to foster real and meaningful connections. It’s important to me to give back to the community that’s helped me grow, and I’m excited about the chance to inspire others to stay connected and proud of where we’ve come from.
