Why I’m a LEE Ambassador

As a proud YES Prep alumnus, I am deeply committed to educational equity and supporting the next generation of students. Serving as an Alumni Ambassador with Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE) presents an exciting opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape my future. My personal experience as a first-generation, low-income student has equipped me with valuable insights into the challenges that many students face when transitioning to college. I am passionate about using these experiences to guide and empower fellow alumni as they navigate the complex journey toward higher education. I am eager to help students understand the wide range of civic leadership opportunities and resources available to them. Whether supporting those who may feel uncertain about their path or helping more confident students maximize their potential, I am ready to play a role in ensuring that my peers are equipped with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. This role is an ideal way for me to develop leadership skills while fostering a sense of community and civic engagement among YES Prep alumni. I look forward to contributing to LEE’s mission of empowering diverse leaders and advocating for educational equity.
