The position of Alumni Ambassador originally caught my interest because the work I have done on my university’s campus aligns with many of the qualifications and skills I hope to build upon in both my academic and professional careers. The Latin American Student Organization on my campus is where my abilities and strengths shine the most. As the publicity chair of one of the largest clubs on campus, I have had the opportunity to work closely with peers from different class standings, as well as professors from the Spanish department, fostering strong connections with faculty.

My position has taught me the importance of outreach and inclusivity, ensuring that people from diverse cultures and backgrounds feel welcomed in the inviting space our club has created. By managing the club’s social media page, I consistently develop creative ways to design posts and organize events that allow members to celebrate their culture while enjoying themselves. Having the opportunity not only to invite but also to guide first-year students in fostering a supportive and joyful community—where they can unwind after a long day of classes—is what drives my motivation.

Understanding the significance of creating such environments makes my college experience even more meaningful. I know that these experiences will resonate with me long after graduation, just as they will continue to shape my fellow executive board members and the students we welcome into our club.
