Why I’m a LEE Ambassador

I am excited about the opportunity to serve as an Alumni Ambassador with Leadership for Educational Equity (LEE). As a first-generation Hispanic Latina college student at Kalamazoo College, I am deeply committed to creating equitable educational opportunities and fostering leadership within underrepresented communities. My experience volunteering with KLIP (Kalamazoo Language Intercultural Partners) has honed my ability to engage with diverse populations, particularly newcomers learning English, while my involvement with the Kalamazoo Dance Team has strengthened my teamwork and communication skills.

My passion for educational equity aligns with LEE’s mission, and I am eager to leverage my background to connect with alumni and encourage their participation. I thrive in roles that require creativity and innovation, and I am confident in my ability to develop unique outreach strategies, including personalized social media campaigns and small community events, to engage and inspire fellow alumni.

Additionally, my organizational skills will enable me to effectively track progress, manage registrations, and share updates with the team. This position offers a chance to further develop my leadership skills while making a tangible impact in my community—a goal that deeply resonates with me.

This opportunity represents a meaningful way to continue advocating for equity and inclusion in education, and I am enthusiastic about contributing my experience and dedication to this program.
