Why I’m a LEE Ambassador

I am a proud alumni of KIPP SoCal. KIPP stands for the Knowledge is Power Program. I have truly come to appreciate the truth in the phrase, Knowledge is Power. Knowledge empowers us to become creators of change.

My interest in serving as an Alumni Ambassador stems from my commitment to community. I was born and raised in East Los Angeles, a community that is under-resourced and underrepresented. Therefore, my lived experience is what brings personal meaning to my efforts as a civic leader.

Throughout my undergraduate career as a first-generation student, I relied on programs similar to LEE for career exploration and advancement. The knowledge and support offered through LEE is incredibly helpful for those seeking guidance and opportunities in the world of civic leadership. As an Alumni Ambassador, I am committed to seeking and engaging with fellow alumni that also envision a community founded on representation and equality.
